Imagine this: after years of separation, the chance to finally hold your loved one once again feels tantalizingly close. Parole is on the horizon, but the system can be daunting. Fear and uncertainty cloud your judgment. Will they be released? How can you increase their chances? This is where a parole attorney becomes your anchor in the storm. They are not just your legal representatives; they are experienced advocates who understand the complexities of the Texas parole system. Here's why having one on your side is critical:
Expertise Navigates the Maze: The parole process has intricate steps, legalese, and unspoken rules. An attorney cuts through the confusion, ensuring all necessary documents are filed correctly and deadlines are met. They anticipate hurdles and develop a strategy to maximize your loved one's chances.
A Strong Voice Before the Board: Parole hearings can be intimidating. A seasoned attorney will confidently present your loved one's case, highlighting their accomplishments, rehabilitation efforts, and remorse. They ensure your loved one's voice is heard—a voice that might falter under pressure.
Humanizing Your Loved One: Beyond legalities, a parole attorney paints a vivid picture of the person behind the bars. They showcase your loved one's growth, positive impact on fellow inmates, and unwavering commitment to a reformed future. This human connection can be the deciding factor for the Board.
Comfort and Support for You: The parole process can be emotionally draining. Your attorney will be a constant source of support, answering your questions, addressing your anxieties, and keeping you informed every step of the way. You won't face this alone.
Don't let the complexities of the system dim the light of hope. A parole attorney is the beacon that guides you and your loved one toward a brighter future. They fight tirelessly to bring families back together, ensuring a second chance becomes reality.

Parole Attorneys' of 2023
Dunham & Jones, Attorneys at Law, founded by Paul Dunham and Scotty Jones, is a Texas-based criminal defense firm that has been practicing criminal law since 1989. They have offices in several cities across the state, including Austin, Bryan/College Station, Dallas, Fort Worth, Killeen/Harker Heights, and San Antonio. Here's what you need to know about their services:
Dunham & Jones provides experienced and qualified parole representation for clients seeking parole from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). If you have a family member with an upcoming parole hearing, you can call 800-499-8455 to speak with one of their Texas Parole Representation Lawyers.
The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles follows a specific decision-making process. After an offender's conviction, county commitment documents are forwarded to the Institutional Division for placement in TDCJ's data systems. Offenders become eligible for parole within six months of calculated parole eligibility or based on prior Parole Board action.
A Parole Officer gathers relevant data about the offender, including offense reports, probation history, and parole revocation information. The Parole Officer interviews the offender and completes a detailed Case Summary covering criminal, social, medical, psychological, and institutional adjustment history. The offender's file is submitted to the Parole Board for review. Based on the Case Summary and related documents, the Parole Board makes a decision and sets appropriate special conditions.
If approved, release processing continues, including developing a release plan and verifying completion of any required rehabilitation programming. The offender may be released on or after the parole eligibility date specified by the Board. If parole is denied, the offender is considered for parole again four months from the next scheduled review date.
Dunham & Jones handles a wide range of criminal cases, including DWI, assault, drug charges, sex crimes, and other misdemeanors and felonies. They have been helping citizens throughout Texas facing criminal charges for over three decades.
